Usage Limits
Understand how resource limits work, what happens when you exceed them, and the grace period.
Each subscription plan includes limits on key resources. CVEium CIS tracks your usage and provides warnings as you approach these limits.
Tracked resources
- Products: Number of software products in your team
- Releases: Total number of releases across all products
- Team members: Number of active members in your team
- Published disclosures: Number of disclosures published in the current billing period
Usage status indicators
Your dashboard shows your current usage level for each resource:
- OK: You are well within your plan limits
- Warning (80%+): You are approaching a limit. Consider upgrading your plan
- Exceeded: You have exceeded a limit. A grace period is in effect
- Blocked: The grace period has expired. You cannot create new resources of this type until you upgrade or reduce usage
Grace period
When you exceed a resource limit, CVEium provides a 7-day grace period before blocking new resource creation. This gives you time to:
- Upgrade to a higher plan
- Remove unused resources to get back within limits
- Finish urgent work in progress
After the grace period expires, you will not be able to create new resources of the exceeded type until the issue is resolved.
Checking your usage
- Your current usage is shown on the dashboard
- Navigate to Billing in the sidebar to see detailed usage breakdowns by resource type
- The system displays a warning banner when you are approaching or exceeding limits
What happens when blocked
When a resource is blocked:
- You cannot create new items of that type (e.g., new products if the product limit is exceeded)
- Existing items remain fully functional — you can still edit, triage, generate VEX, and publish
- Other resource types that are within limits remain unaffected
Reducing usage
To get back within your limits without upgrading:
- Delete unused products or releases
- Remove inactive team members
- Published disclosures reset at the start of each billing period
